The Frostbite Yacht Club (FBYC) and the Essex Yacht Club have a long close relationship dating back to March 4-5, 1933 when the first Eastern Frostbite Dinghy Regatta was held on the Connecticut River. This regatta was the genesis of the Essex Yacht Club. Continuing to present day the Connecticut River Frostbite Squadron at Essex holds Spring and Fall Frostbite racing from EYC. The fleet consists of Etchells, Ideal 18s, JY15s, Lasers and 420s sailed by the Valley Regional Sailing Club.
Spring Frostbite begins Sunday, March 5 and ends Sunday, April 30. EYC drawing for Ideal 18s will be Friday, March 3 at 1600. Please contact Fleet Captain Renny Schoomaker if you would like to draw for a boat.
Tentative schedule for Fall Frostbite Series is Sunday, October 1 thru Sunday, November 26.
